Divide into nine equal parts by
•Two equally-spaced horizontal lines and
•Two equally-spaced vertical lines
•Place points of interest in the intersections or along the lines
•People’s eyes usually go to one of the intersection points most naturally rather than the centre of the shot
•Aligning a subject with the intersection points creates more tension, energy and interest in the composition than simply centering the subject would
•What are the points of interest in the shot?
•Where am I intentionally placing them?
